What is Gigity.TV's Mission?
Our mission is to create an internet television network of live streaming from music clubs, comedy theaters, and other venues of entertainment. At the venues, we install the cameras & gear, and from our offices in Chicago, we build the applications that automate the live streaming, video archiving, promotions, monetization (with pay per view and advertising), and payouts to the artists & venues.
Can I watch Gigity.TV Broadcasts on my device?
Our broadcasts are viewable across all types of computers, internet browsers, tablets, and mobile devices. It is important, however, that you have a fast and reliable internet connection. Please read our System Requirements for more information, or, simply test your connection on one of our many free broadcasts.
I can't see/hear a Broadcast. What gives?
If you're having trouble viewing a broadcast, please refer to our Troubleshooting guide.
What is your refund policy for pay per view broadcasts?
Gigity.TV will grant a refund for the following reasons:
1. If the artist cancels or fails to stream.
2. If the disruption of the stream is experienced by all viewers, lasts longer than 20 minutes, and is determined to be the fault of either Gigity.TV and/or the venue.
3. If the refund request is registered within 3 days after the event.
Please review our System Requirements for users, and our refund policy under the Terms of Sale.
If you have any questions please send us a message through the Contact Page.
If I buy a pay per view ticket can I watch the archive?
Yes, however, the venue may decide with the artists to insert a time limit on the access to the video archive. This time limit will be posted on the broadcast page, but if not otherwise specified, assume perpetual access.
Is it free to signup?
Yes. Signups are free for artists, viewers, venues and sponsors. Also, signing-up is required to purchase a pay per view ticket, to use the chat feature, and to become a fan of an artist or venue. Signing up is not required for watching free broadcasts.
Can Artists play cover songs?
Yes, and without any worry of deductions on their payments. Gigity.TV is already paying ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC almost five percent of all Pay Per View and Advertising revenue. This covers our collective obligation to compensate the original songwriters.
Note: Artists must first report any covers they may have performed on a broadcast, and "sign-off" on each revenue earning broadcast in the "Broadcast Management" section of their Control Panel before receiving any payments resulting from a broadcast.
How is revenue from a pay per view broadcast shared?
The profits from pay per view are shared by all stakeholders on a broadcast. Each broadcast event has its own terms that are set by the venue, in cooperation with the artists.
Profits are determined after costs are deducted. The standard deduction is $1.00 on each pay per view ticket sold. This covers the credit card processing fee set by PayPal, the cost of bandwidth, and the PRO Licensing fees paid to ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC.
The remaining revenue is profit, of which Gigity.TV's standard share is 25%. The remaining profit is split between the artists, venue, and any other 3rd Party stakeholders, if applicable. All parties may negotiate their percentage share, which may vary from event to event, and all terms are available for review by all stakeholders via their respective control panel.
Artist and venue accounts are paid on the 1st and 15th of each month. However, a delay of 5 days after a broadcast is necessary to resolve any issues or refunds that may arise. Payments will be made via direct deposit into the PayPal account of each party.
Please read the Artist Agreement in the Terms of Service for more information.
Do Artists sign an agreement with Gigity.TV?
Yes. When a group or individual performer creates an Artist Profile, they are agreeing to the terms of the Artist Agreement. All business affairs for that group or individual are managed through the profile, and the agreement applies to all of the broadcasts in which that entity performed.
Individual artists in a group are encouraged to read the Terms of Service and Artist Agreement.
How can Artists get a copy of their performance?
While events are streaming live, they are also being recorded for video-on-demand (unless specifically set to "stream only"). Afterwards, performers may download a free copy simply by logging-in to their artist profile and going to the archived broadcast. There, the artist will see the "download" button underneath the video player screen.
A regular viewer will not see the download button, only artists who are both logged-in to their profile, and, if the profile is embedded into the broadcast page. If you are an artist and do not yet have your profile embedded, locate and click the "Add my profile to this broadcast" button located at the bottom of the broadcast page.
What are the Artists' rights regarding recorded performances?
Gigity.TV and the venues both understand that the artists own their recordings, and that they are free to exploit and market them as they please. However, Gigity.TV has the right to archive and re-organize these recordings, and monetize them for the benefit of the artists and venues, through pay per view and advertising.
Artists will be compensated according to the terms negotiated with the venues in their broadcast agreements. Furthermore, as a protection to artists, they may request at any time that their performances be deleted or temporarily deactivated from the video-on-demand archives.
For more information please refer to the Artist Agreement.
How does a venue get affiliated with Gigity.TV?
We're always happy to add a new venue to our network, and to help them acquire and install the best set of cameras and gear they will need. When the gear is high quality, the streams are high quality, and when the venues are invested in their gear, they will make sure that the broadcasts are booked, that their artists are signed up, and that the shows get promoted across everyone's social networks.
We're seeking serious and motivated venues as partners, so please contact us if you have any questions or if you would like to get started. Thank You.
